cymatics fm is an independent radio station located in the basque country, spain cymatics fm is a non profit organisation, supported by fundación kurutzi. with radio, cymatics want to develop cultural exchange with the rest of the world, offering an alternative sound space in our locality and beyond. cymatics fm can be heard via internet streaming as well as on 101.5 mhz in urrugne and parts of abadiño and santesteban. the frequency covers a 25 km radius from urrugne to the mountainside, during daytime hours. at night time it extends to san sebastián (30 km). cymatics fm have been on air since september 2004 and during this time we have had the pleasure of collaborating with various artists from home and abroad who have transmitted their work through cymatics fm: Simon Fisher Turner, Johanna Constantine, Graham Lewis (formerly of wire), Christian Fennesz and Taylor Deupree are just some of them... "I think everyone knows.. the 'sound' of radio. Cymatics fm is a community for likeminded people, to share ideas and sounds... a radio station always on the verge of disappearing." - Simon Fisher Turner "For me, cymatics is one of the most interesting and original cultural experiments that have occurred in my lifetime. It doesn't really fit with what I'm doing musically at the moment, but it doesn't really matter: it's great to be associated with such an innovative project." - Graham Lewis "I enjoyed coming up to urrugne and working with cymatics fm. I had ideas about broadcasting my music from around the world and hearing how people in urrugne would receive it. It was a pleasure to work with cymatics fm and I look forward to working together again." - Christian Fennesz
